Preparation for Upgrade and Data Migration of LEARN@PolyU
Please note that from the following dates, LEARN@PolyU will NOT be available.: - 14/06/2015 (09:00) to 14/06/2015 (14:00)
After 14/06/2015 (14:00), Only the following courses will be available: - 2014/15 Summer term.
- 2014/15 All year semester courses.
- HSEO Online safety Training and Registration System
- HLS Healthy Lifestyle Programme
- Online Tutorial on Academic Integrity
- SAO PolyU Online Student Services
- Sandbox course
Other courses will not be accessible by students in order to prepare for upgrade exercises during August. And we encourage instructors not to update the disabled course. Because any update or changes after this preparation exercise will not be included for migration and Blackboard upgrade.

Sending Mail to users causes Error

Sending mail to users caues an error (error 404/502) display and not all emails are sent.
This is status as Known Issue by Blackboard. And will plan to be fixed in future release of Blackboard. This issue will be hit when course instructor send email to more than 100 users. Workaround: To send email in smaller batch per users (e.g:40 users in 1 time.).Send Email > Single / Select Users > Select users from the list.
Steps to Replicate:• Click tools in the course menu• Click send email• Send to all users• Generate an email and click send
Observed Result:The system error message from the Blackboard server was 404 or 502 Bad Gateway
Blackboard Security Alert: DO NOT Respond to Phishing E-mails

The Information Technology Services (ITS) Office wishes to alert you to an email purporting to be sent from the "Blackboard [mailto:Alert.firstname.lastname@example.org] " with a subject of “Notification Mail” , "New Notification" or “Blackboard Learn Access”.You are requested to click on hyperlink and provide some account information like your NetID and NetPassword. Please DO NOT respond to the message. Anyone who has already provided your user credentials (NetID and NetPassword), please report to the ITS Help Centre and reset the account password as soon as possible. In addition, please be reminded once again that ITS does not have the practice of asking users to provide their account password through email.
